KINGSFORD, MI-- A number of drug tablets were seized after the Upper Peninsula Substance
Enforcement Team executed a search warrant in Kingsford Thursday.
The warrant was part of an investigation into the interstate distribution of MDMA--also known as Molly or Ecstasy. The drug is a stimulant and causes psychedelic effects.
UPSET determined that over the past several months numerous shipments of MDMA were being received by a suspect in Kingsford. Each shipment contained several hundred tablets.
Detectives also seized evidence of the manufacture of psilocybin mushrooms.
No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing. Arrests are expected, pending a review by the Dickinson County Prosecutor’s Office.
