NEGAUNEE, MI— Two Chicago women have been arrested for trying to fill a false prescription in Marquette County.
Detectives from UPSET were notified by staff from Snyder’s Pharmacy when the suspects tried to obtain prescription medication from several different Snyder Drug stores in the area. Pharmacists and detectives verified the prescription was fraudulent.
Last Friday, UPSET detectives and Michigan State Police troopers contacted the suspects as they were leaving the Snyder’s pharmacy in Negaunee. The women resisted arrest by locking their doors and not listening to the officer’s commands when ordered to exit the vehicle. They were eventually taken into custody and lodged in the Marquette County jail on felony charges related to obtaining a fraudulent prescription and resisting arrest.
