ISHPEMING, MI-- Residents will get a chance to tell Rio Tinto what they think about operations at the Eagle mine so far at a meeting Wednesday in Ishpeming.
The Company recently unveiled its “community scorecard”—a questionnaire about the mine’s hiring practices, safety, and environmental performance in the previous six months. Rio Tinto will gather resident feedback and present the resulting scores to the community.
The first meeting takes place Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Country Village Banquet and Conference Center in Ishpeming. That will be followed by another meeting Thursday at 7:30 a.m. in the Peter White Lounge at NMU’s University Center.
