Northern Arts & Culture: Craig Randal Johnson joins the NMU Orchestra for a special performance

A talk with Dr. Barbara Rhyneer of the NMU Orchestra

The Northern Michigan University's Department of Music presents a concert with the NMU Orchestra on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022 with special guest pianist Craig Randal Johnson.

The orchestra will perform the music of Edvard Grieg with Craig Randal Johnson as piano soloist. The program features the Piano Concerto in A Minor by Grieg, along with Gustav Mahler's Adagietto from Symphony No. 5, and the March to the Scaffold from Symphonie Fantastique by Hector Berlioz.

Dr. Barbara Rhyneer, NMU Orchestra Director, joined Kurt Hauswirth in our studios to discuss background on the orchestra, concert prep, the program and more.

The NMU Orchestra performance takes place Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 7:30 pm at the Reynolds Recital Hall on Northern Michigan University's campus. The concert is free and masks are not required.
