The Local Spin with Ethan Bott

Marquette musician Ethan Bott has released his debut full-length album Ass in the Saddle, which is described as "North Country."

Rather than write and perform music in the pop-tinged, radio-friendly modern country sound, Ethan reaches back to the earlier days of country, inspired by artists like Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash. He's got an EP under his belt (buckle) called Saddle Up and his LP provides his growing audience with the fullest realization of his sound yet. Ethan performs with a full band on the record, and also performs as a solo musician.

Ethan is also celebrating the release of two music videos this weekend, debuted by director Nels Lindquist. The two previously teamed up for a music video for "I Like Being A Redneck" and will debut two new videos at the Fresh Coast Film Festival, for "Ain't No Honky Tonks in Michigan" and "Two Track."

Kurt lives in Marquette with his family and can’t imagine living anywhere else. He loves music, games, running, being near water, and a fine cold brew coffee.
