IRON RIVER, MI-- Citizens in Iron and Dickinson counties will see flames reaching to the sky this week… but it will be on purpose.
The Michigan Propane Gas Association is holding fire safety training sessions Tuesday and Wednesday for the region’s firefighters. Classroom sessions will cover the properties and principles of propane, while hands-on outdoor sessions will offer simple to complex propane explosions. Officials say flames could reach as high as 60 feet.
Tuesday’s training takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bachman Park in Iron River, while Wednesday’s training will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at 400 Woodward Avenue in Iron Mountain. Both events are open to the public.
