Body of missing Bessemer woman found

WATERSMEET TOWNSHIP, MI--   Authorities say they've found the body of a 79-year-old Bessemer woman who had been missing since earlier this month.

WLUC-TV and the Ironwood Daily Globe report the body of Ethel Grzena-Peters was found Monday in Gogebic County's Watersmeet Township.  The Sheriff's Department says foul play hasn't been ruled out.

Peters was reported missing after she was last seen in Bessemer on the evening of August 3.  Information about the cause of death is pending.

The Sheriff's Department and Michigan State Police are leading the investigation into her death.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
