MANISTIQUE, MI--   Landline telephone service in an area of Schoolcraft County is back up, after it went out Monday.

Sheriff Grant Harris notified Michigan State Police shortly after 5 p.m. that exchanges 341 and 644 in the Manistique and Cooks area went silent after a fiber optic line was cut downstate.  911 service remained available throughout the blackout.
