Downstate man dead in Baraga County fire

SKANEE - A downstate man is dead following a fire in Baraga County.

According to WLUC-TV, the Baraga County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the fire which occurred early Sunday morning on Ohman Road in Skanee.

Killed in the blaze was 53-year-old Mark Allen Stenke of Petoskey.

The Arvon Township fire department and the Aura fire department fought the blaze.

The Michigan State Police Fire Marshall from Petosky was also called in to help with the investigation.
