QUINNESEC, MI-- Verso Paper is conducting live burn training at its Quinnesec mill Tuesday.
Beginning at 7 p.m. Central mill Fire Brigade members and Breitung Township Firefighters will ignite propane props and contain and control the fires. Officials say the “Burn to Learn” training gives firefighters the opportunity to practice advanced techniques in a live fire setting.
The process will be supervised by experienced firefighters and will follow strict safety guidelines.
It’s the first joint live burn training effort with Breitung Township and the mill’s Fire Brigade and first responders.
