Body found in Marquette building identified

MARQUETTE, MI--  City police say the body found at 231 West Washington Street has been positively identified as 34-year-old Shawn Dollar of Marquette.  No other information is available at this time. _____________________

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette Police have discovered a body in a vacant city building. 

The male subject was found Friday afternoon at 231 West Washington Street during a search for missing Marquette man Shawn Dollar. 

Police say the victim is a white male, but no positive identification of the body has been made and the cause of death has not yet been determined.  Officers and the Michigan State Police Crime Lab are investigating the scene. 

Dollar—who was reported missing Thursday—was last seen at the Doghouse Pub in downtown Marquette September 8. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
