Identity of Marquette Township fire victim released

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Police have released the name of the person killed in a Marquette Township fire Thursday.  

The blaze broke out around 5:15 a.m. at 2262 Moran Street.  Upon arrival firefighters found the mobile home engulfed. 

After the flames were extinguished officials found the body of Amy Cook, 37, in the home. 

An autopsy is being performed at Marquette General Hospital to determine the cause of death. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.   

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
