Shooting in Marquette injures one

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Marquette Police Department is investigating a shooting in the city.  

Officers say they responded to 518 Fisher Street around 5:30 Wednesday morning in response to a report of a female gunshot victim. 

The female was taken to Marquette General Hospital and is being treated for a non-life-threatening injury.

No further details have been released. 

The incident remains under investigation. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
