Name released in Iron Mountain fire

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   Officials have released the name of the man killed in an Iron Mountain house fire. 

Police say Robert Davis, 66, died in the fire, which started Wednesday morning around 3:50 on South  

Milwaukee Avenue.

Upon arrival officials found smoke pouring from the house.  Firefighters found Davis’ body once they got inside.  An autopsy reveals he died of smoke inhalation. 

The Michigan State Police Fire Marshal's Office is assisting the investigation, but officials have not yet announced a cause of the blaze. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
