UPDATE: Fire at Medical Center

UPDATE (2 p.m.):  Offices at the Peninsula Medical Center in Marquette have reopened, after a fire in the basement forced the building’s evacuation Thursday morning.

Officials say the fire—which was reported around 7:50 a.m.—was confined to a storage area.  It was extinguished before it could cause any structural damage, but smoke spread throughout the building.

All offices were closed until noon, and some Marquette General Hospital clinics will remain closed until Friday morning.  For a list of closures click here
