IRONWOOD, MI-- The Michigan Department of Transportation is closing the US-2 Business Route in Ironwood Wednesday at 10 a.m. CDT due to flooding at the Montreal River. Traffic will detour on US-2. Officials say duration of the closure isn't known, as water levels continue to rise.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning
--until further notice for the Sturgeon River near Chassell and for the Trap Rock River near Lake Linden, and until Saturday morning for the Sturgeon River near Alston.
--through Friday morning for the south branch of the Ontonagon River near Ewen, and through Thursday night for the Paint River at Crystal Falls.
--Wednesday night through Saturday night for the Menominee River near Florence and Wednesday night through Monday afternoon for the Menominee River near McAllister.
--until further notice for the Brule River near Commonwealth.
--until late Thursday night for the Black River near Bessemer.
--until Saturday morning for the middle branch of the Escanaba River near Humboldt.
A flood warning is in effect for melting snow in Gogebic County until further notice.
