LANSING, MI (AP)-- The deadline to apply for home heating credits in Michigan is September 30.
The credit assists low-income residents and qualifying senior citizens with winter energy bills. It's funded by a federal Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program grant.
Home heating credits are processed by the Michigan Department of Treasury.
Eligible customers must have their homestead in Michigan and own or rent the home in which they live, and their income must fall within certain limits.
