Firefighters extinguish Marquette blaze

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette house has been damaged by fire.

The city fire department was called around 10:00 Monday night to 1109 Second Street.  Firefighters say upon arrival smoke was showing from the first and second floors.  A search of the house was done and the fire was extinguished.  None of the residents was at home at the time.

The house sustained heavy heat damage on the second floor and heavy smoke damage throughout.

The fire originated in the eastern wall of the second story, but the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
