ELY TOWNSHIP, MI - A hunter has been found safe after becoming lost in the woods near Ely Township. Marquette County Sheriff’s deputies say 17-year old Yury Hammar, of Vulcan, wandered away from his hunting blind in Ely Township
yesterday and could not find his way back. Family members alerted authorities at about 9:20pm when he failed to return to camp. After a 10-hour search, Hammar was found safe and in good condition. He needed no medical attention.
Search and Rescue has responded to four separate calls for lost or missing hunters since the beginning of the 2013 deer season.
