Royales 'Skate for Life' in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Marquette Royales hockey team will skate in support of transplant patients this weekend.

Along with U.P. Run for Life and the Superior Health Foundation the team is holding its inaugural Skate for Life Friday and Saturday at Lakeview Arena.

The event is part of a three-game home series for the Royales against the Wisconsin Rampage.  A silent auction will be held, along with raffles and “chuck-a-puck”, and Skate for Life t-shirts and pucks will be sold.

Proceeds will be used to assist transplant patients in the U.P. with medical costs, prescriptions, and mileage expenses.

Both games begin at 6:30 p.m. at Lakeview Arena.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
