Weather affecting Marquette County customers

MARQUETTE, MI--   The frost line is causing problems in Ishpeming and Negaunee Township.

In a press release the Ishpeming Department of Public Works says because of the impact of severe weather on its water system, bulk garbage disposal at the former Recycling Center scheduled for February 22 is canceled.  The next scheduled disposal date is March 29.

And Negaunee Township let-run water customers are being asked to continue running their water regardless of the temperature until they’re notified by township officials to stop.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
