Have Coffee with a Cop

MARQUETTE, MI--   State Police from the Negaunee Post are asking for your presence.

Friday at the Marquette Culver’s Restaurant lieutenants, sergeants, and troopers will gather with community members for Coffee with a Cop.

Trooper Stacey Rasanen says most of the time people meet officers during emergencies or highly emotional situations.  She says the event will give both sides an opportunity to really talk and listen.

“It’s to bring the community together in a relaxed, one-on-one setting where we can find out what the community’s needs are and they can also learn more about our department,” she says.

Rasanen says troopers will learn how to better help the community and will make citizens aware of what the Negaunee Post has to offer.

Coffee with a Cop takes place Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Culver’s in Marquette.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
