Spring storm creates hazardous driving conditions

MARQUETTE, MI (AP)--   A storm moving through the Great Lakes region has dumped several inches of snow on parts of the Upper Peninsula and could bring up to 17 inches in places.

The National Weather Service says snow began Thursday, with some reports of 4 to 5 inches by the end of the day, and more snow is falling Friday.  Freezing rain and sleet are falling in the Southern U.P.

Forecasters and the Michigan State Police's Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division say driving conditions will be hazardous throughout the day and there is the possibility that the accumulation of ice will lead to power outages.
