Autopsy results in on man found in Ironwood

IRONWOOD, MI--   The likely cause of death is drowning for a Hurley, Wisconsin man found in a vehicle submerged in 10 feet of water in some Ironwood caves.

That’s the result of an autopsy performed on the body of Wayne Jussila, 74, who was declared missing July 5.  Jussila was found July 27 in his car near Alfred Wright Boulevard.

Officials are still waiting for toxicology results.  That could take an additional two to four weeks.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
