Governor investigates U.P. business trends

MARQUETTE, MI--   Governor Rick Snyder is in the Upper Peninsula Tuesday, visiting various businesses.

Snyder is making a stop Tuesday morning in Calumet Township to tour ThermoAnalytics, a software company specializing in thermal analysis tools.

At noon the governor will tour the Humboldt Mill construction project in Marquette County.  Upon its completion the mill will process nickel and copper from the Eagle Mine.

And Tuesday afternoon Snyder will participate in a business roundtable at Northern Michigan University.  Local educators, business representatives, and legislators will talk about emerging economic trends in the U.P.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
