Minneapolis group purchasing Landmark Inn

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Landmark Inn will continue down a good path even after its ownership changes.

That’s according to one of the Landmark’s current owners Christine Pesola, who says they’re finalizing a deal to sell the hotel.

Graves Hospitality of Minneapolis is taking the reins.  Pesola says she was approached more than a year ago by Graves, which owns award-winning hotels and other businesses.  She says one of the principals of the group is from Marquette and has always had an interest and love for the Landmark.

Pesola is confident the new owners will continue to lead the hotel down the right path.

“I do feel that they bring something to the table that, I guess what you would call it is knowledge that I don’t have,” she says.  “Especially in that food and beverage arena, banquet arena, they have access to corporate marketing tools and production that we just don’t have here as a small little entity.”

Pesola says although some changes will likely be made, she expects current employees to retain their positions.

The sale could be finalized within the next couple of months.
