  Happy Holidays from Public Radio 90. Below is a list of all our specials for the season:

Tue, Dec 30th

1pm
Tune in Tuesday afternoon, December 30th at 1 for St. Olaf Christmas Festival, celebrating the Nativity and featuring more than 500 student musicians playing hymns, carols, choral works and orchestral selections.

Wed, Dec 31st

3pm & 8pm
Tune in Wednesday afternoon, December 31st at 3 and again at 8pm for the Capitol Steps “Politics Takes a Holiday” New Year’s Eve Special. This one hour special will roast 2014 to a crisp with Capitol Steps annual year-in-review awards ceremony.

9pm
Tune in Wednesday night, December 31st at 9 for Toast of the Nation, an NPR tradition since the 1970s. Enjoy jazz you can party to all night, with countdowns to midnight in all four continental time zones.

Thur, Jan 1st

Tune in New Year’s morning at 11 for New Year’s Day from Vienna, a performance by the Vienna Philharmonic in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna. You’ll hear your favorite waltzes, polkas and more.

Hans Ahlström is the host of several programs including the daily musical variety show Weekday, the mostly straight ahead jazz show Night Studio, the self explanatory Blues Today, and the eclectic Sound Spectrum. You can also hear Hans as the local host of NPR's All Things Considered news magazine. He also helps manage Public Radio 90's web content, interviews local and visiting writers and artists, works with NMU student interns, and writes the occasional news story.
