MEMPHIS, TN-- Paper maker Verso Corporation has completed its acquisition of NewPage.
The sale is valued at about $1.4 billion. Now that it’s completed, Verso will have approximately $3.5 billion in annual sales and around 5,800 employees in eight mills across six states.
The company has changed its name from Verso Paper Corporation to just Verso Corporation. Officials say that signifies their intention to broaden Verso’s business platform and identify other sources of revenue beyond paper production.
