No injuries in Marquette fire

MARQUETTE, MI--   Only minor damage is reported from a house fire in Marquette. 

Personnel were called to 331 East Prospect Street around 12:50 p.m. and found the house full of smoke.  Fire was located in the kitchen and extinguished about ten minutes later.  Firefighters say damage was contained to the kitchen.

Working smoke detectors alerted residents to the fire and they were able to get out safely. 

No injuries were reported. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
