wnmu-fm

Public Radio 90 has won a ‘Good News’ award for the featured story ‘University Beat: ASNMU President Works with Syrian Refugees.’  The awards were presented on June 8th at Grace United Methodist Church in Marquette. The annual Good News awards recognize the positive contributions media outlets from across the Upper Peninsula make to the community.

Of the program ‘University Beat: ASNMU President Works with Syrian Refugees’ the judges wrote: “This Feature Story provided a very clear explanation of the rational for, and urgency of, the initiative, as well as excellent background. With the focus on helping refugees and children, the story demonstrated compassion and the dignity of people. We liked that you connected listeners with the opportunity to find out more about this initiative and to donate to the effort online.”

The program was written and produced by WNMU-FM student intern Kris Thomas.

The annual Good News Awards are sponsored by the judicatory heads of the Catholic, Presbyterian, Evangelical Lutheran, Episcopal, and United Methodist Churches in the central Upper Peninsula
