en.wikipedia.org

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) — The home improvement chain Menards is planning to stop selling a vinyl flooring that contains a toxic chemical.

The Eau Claire company plans to end sales of products with phthalates (thah-LAYTS'). The chemical compound has been banned by federal regulators in many children's products, but not in flooring.
