Fire destroys Forsyth Township home

GWINN, MI--   A Gwinn house has been destroyed by fire.

Monday around 5:30 a.m. Forsyth Township Volunteer Firefighters were dispatched to a residence on Johnson Lake Road and found it fully engulfed.

Officials say no one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

Township Police Chief Gordon Warchock says it’s the second time in a week the house caught fire.  He says the cause of the first fire seemed to be electrical, but officials don’t know the cause of the second blaze.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
