Fire destroys Manistique home

MANISTIQUE, MI--   A house in Manistique is considered a total loss after an early-morning fire Monday.

WLUC-TV reports Manistique Public Safety and Volunteer Fire Officers were called around 1:45 a.m. to 207 North 4th Street and found the front of the home engulfed.  The owner, his daughter, and a dog were able to get out safely.

Officials believe the fire started in a downstairs utility room.  Its cause remains under investigation.
