Message to Wakefield from emergency officials

WAKEFIELD, MI--   From Bruce Davey of the Gogebic County Emergency Management Agency to the residents of Wakefield:

Officials have been informed that power for most residents will hopefully be restored sometime this evening. Due to substantial damage in some areas, some power outages will continue for a time and we will keep residents up to date as we receive further updates.

We also wish to inform residents and visitors to Wakefield that at this time, Sunday Lake is closed due to debris in the water from the storm.  The debris is considered a potential danger to people and property.

Little Girls Point emergency responders continue to reach out to residents along Lake Road to check on their status, and will do so until every resident is contacted.  The Gogebic County Road Commission is working to fix roads, but there’s no timelines as to when the repairs will be completed.

If you have an emergency dial 911; for information dial 667-0203.
