Lambros Park nearly done

miningjournal.net

MARQUETTE, MI (AP)--   A project to develop Clark Lambros Beach Park in Marquette is nearing

completion.

The park will include picnic tables, barbecues, a paved parking lot, restroom facilities, mats to make the beach handicap accessible, and an accessible kayak launch on the Dead River.

A dedication is planned August 14. Project coordinator Michele Butler says it's been "a labor of love."

The roughly 10-acre park honors the memory of restaurant owner Clark Lambros and his son Clark Lambros, Jr.  The elder Lambros proposed the project before his death in 2012.
