HERMANSVILLE, MI (AP)-- The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF1 tornado touched down in the Upper Peninsula last week.
The weather service says an EF1 tornado with winds of about 90 mph touched down about 4:30 p.m. Central time Thursday near Hermansville in Menominee County. It was on the ground for about 1.25 miles. No injuries were reported.
The weather service says most of the damage was limited to forest areas, but says the tornado did come within about 100 yards of farms and homes, tossing around some farm equipment.
