Gladstone firefighters gathering food, handing out candy canes

GLADSTONE, MI--   Gladstone area fire officials are holding a food drive this weekend.

Gladstone Public Safety, the city Volunteer Fire Department, and the Escanaba Township Volunteer Fire Department are once again conducting their annual Christmas Candy Cane/Can Food Drive on Sunday.  Firefighters, their families and friends will go throughout the community, handing out candy canes and collecting food items for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry.  Trucks will be decorated and Christmas music will play as volunteers walk through town beginning around 5 p.m. Sunday.

Residents are asked to have their porch lights on so volunteers can give a candy cane and collect much-needed food for area families.
