UPDATE: Whiteout conditions close M-28

UPDATE, 5:35 pm:  M-28 HAS BEEN REOPENED TO NORMAL TRAFFIC IN MARQUETTE AND ALGER COUNTIES.

MARQUETTE, MI--   Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post say M-28 between Kawbawgam Road in Chocolay Township and Munising is closed until further notice due to heavy, lake-effect blowing snow that is causing zero visibility.

The alternate route is M-94 between US-41 South in Skandia Township and Munising.
