Road work starts May 8

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Michigan Department of Transportation is starting projects in Iron and Dickinson counties on Monday.

M-DOT is resurfacing nine miles of M-69 from Felch to Oakes Road in Dickinson County. The work is expected to be completed in July.  

In Iron County M-DOT is resurfacing US-2 from Oss Road to US-141 west of Crystal Falls. The project includes repaving 5.2 miles of roadway, extending a truck lane, making drainage improvements, and performing bridge approach work at the Fortune Lake Bridge.

The project is expected to be completed in August.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
