BARAGA COUNTY, MI-- A portion of Baraga County has been affected by flooding.
The Michigamme-Spurr Volunteer Fire Department and Baraga County Road Commission have responded to the area of Beaufort Lake and Stagecoach Drive after a beaver dam collapsed, causing flooding in the area. At this time the area is impassable and Stagecoach Drive has been washed out. Officials say the flooding is extensive and the area should be avoided, if possible.
The fire department and Road Commission are establishing an alternate route of travel. Anyone stranded by the flooding and in need of emergency services should call 911.
