Dickinson County airport gets federal grant

KINGSFORD, MI--   Ford Airport in Kingsford is getting more than $2.2 million in federal funding for improvements.

Senators Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters announced the Department of Transportation grant Friday. They say the money will be used to rehabilitate the runway and reconstruct its lighting system.

Peters says Ford Airport is a critical connection for residents, and it boosts tourism and bolsters economic development in the region.
