Missing juvenile found in Houghton County

HANCOCK TOWNSHIP, MI--   A teen reported missing in Hancock Township has been found.

Monday deputies from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Waasa Road and M-203. A juvenile was believed to be in the woods and endangered.

Around 3 p.m. deputies and the Keweenaw County K-9 Unit initiated a search in the surrounding area that lasted for several hours. The teen was located in a friend’s vehicle on Waasa road by deputies around 8:30 p.m.

Troopers from the Calumet Post assisted at the scene. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
