Body of Felch Township woman found in pond

FELCH TOWNSHIP, MI--   The body if a Dickinson County woman reported missing has been found by State Police.

Troopers from the Iron Mountain Post were called Monday to a Felch Township residence on a report that Debra Lee Deacon, 65, could not be found. A search of the house found it to be in order. Subsequent investigation led to the discovery of Deacon’s body in a nearby pond.

Troopers say there are no signs of foul play in connection with her death.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office and Norway Fire Department Search and Rescue assisted at the scene.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
