BARAGA, MI-- Michigan State Police from the Calumet Post and Baraga detachment are investigating the death of a 3-year-old child from L’Anse.
On December 23 the child, who was unresponsive, was brought by a guardian to Baraga County Memorial Hospital. The child was later transferred to Milwaukee Children’s Hospital, where he or she passed away on December 26.
An autopsy was performed by the Milwaukee medical examiner and is pending further examination results.
State Police say the death remains under investigation and more information will be released at a later date.
