Grass fire extinguished near Gladstone

GLADSTONE, MI--   Firefighters in Gladstone were able to get a grass fire under control before it claimed too much acreage Tuesday.

Around 12:10 p.m. officers and volunteer firefighters from Gladstone Public Safety were dispatched to US-2/41 near the south city limits on a report of a fire. Personnel were able to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading. About an acre was burned.

No injuries were reported. Firefighters were assisted by the Michigan State Police and Delta County Sheriff’s Office.

Public Safety is asking residents to avoid burning of any kind during these extremely dry conditions.
