Marquette finishing up construction projects

MARQUETTE, MI--   Starting Monday the City of Marquette will restart construction projects not completed last year due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.

The remaining work consists of concrete placement, lawn restoration, permanent pavement markings and various minor tasks. The work will affect Wright Street, Presque Isle Avenue, and US-41 east of McClellan Avenue to the Altamont Street overpass.

Traffic control will consist of lane shifts and flag control. Officials do not plan to close any streets in those areas. They say all work for the projects will be done within three weeks.

The city thanks drivers for their patience.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
