Next phase of Presque Isle Ave. revamp commences

MARQUETTE, MI--   The second part of the Presque Isle Avenue reconstruction project in Marquette has begun.

This phase includes the western half of the street from Wright Street to a point south of Center Street. The eastern half of the roadway will be open to two-way traffic. This phase is the second of four and is expected to last about three weeks.

Truck traffic will continue to be detoured. Businesses in the area are open and patrons will have access to them.

The public is advised to use caution when traveling through the area and to be alert for construction, detour, and advisory signage.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
