Escanaba water problem fixed

ESCANBA, MI--   A water restriction has been lifted in the City of Escanaba.

The Department of Public Safety says the water main break discovered Thursday has been found and contained. Residents and businesses were cleared to start using water again Thursday afternoon. While safe to drink, the water may be cloudy and have some sediment in it.

A road closure remains on 1st Avenue North at North Lincoln Road west to North 26th Street. It includes the 100 block of North 25th Street. Motorists are asked to bypass that section and use an alternate route.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
