Hearings to be held on applications for Iron Ore Trail grants

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   The Iron Ore Heritage Recreation Authority is holding two public hearings to talk about Michigan Recreation Grant applications. 

The first will focus on an application for 2.5 miles of lighting along the trail between Ishpeming and Negaunee.

The second hearing will be on three applications: Michigan Trust Fund, Land and Water Conservation Fund, and Recreation Passport grant submissions for a trailhead development project near the intersection of M-35 and County Road 492 in Negaunee Township.

The public hearings take place Wednesday, February 27 at 4:30 p.m. at the Country Inn and Suites in Marquette Township.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
