2 injured in two separate crashes on M-35

Two people are jailed following a pair of single vehicle crashes in Marquette County. Both accidents happened on M-35 early Saturday morning.

      According to Marquette County Sheriff’s Deputies, an 18-year old man from Gwinn was travelling north on M-35 in Richmond Township just before 7am Saturday, when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. He was taken into custody for suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and several other charges. 
              State Police investigated the second crash which was reported as the trooper was initially heading to the scene of the first accident. A 20 year old Ishpeming man and an 18 year old Ishpeming man were traveling south on M-35 when their vehicle left the roadway and rolled over.  The 20 year old man was taken into custody for suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and several other charges. 

Both drivers were treated for minor injuries at UP Health Systems Marquette and was lodged at the Marquette County Jail.
               UP Health Systems Marquette, UP Health Systems Marquette EMS, Richmond Township Fire Department, Marquette County Sheriff’s Department and the Michigan State Police assisted in the investigations.
